one of four children. an older brother, matthew winters. a twin sister, francesca winters. and a younger (deceased) brother, vincent winters.
near inseparable from her twin sister from birth, up until their brother died. whilst theo’s goals became oriented towards bringing back the dead, frankie’s was to prevent it, prompting her to become a doctor. theo became a professor of anatomy, a genuine enjoyment for teaching residing in her. when she’s not teaching, she has an affinity for experimenting in her basement (she’d turned it into a lab of sorts) on animals, on people—though she’s only done so once. despite her goal being re—animating the dead, she also enjoys other kinds of grotesque habits. once, she sewed her neighbours cat’s head onto a rabbit’s body.

when theo was 11, her grandmother passed away with heart disease. it was her first time losing somebody, and rather than accepting and grieving, she became obsessed with trying to understand just what the disease was and how it killed her grandmother. it unlocked her obsession with death and the body.
chapter two
---
when theo was 13, vincent was 8. she’d taken him to the park one day, but only she got to go home. on their way back, vincent ran ahead and a car collided with him. he died in the hospital a couple hours later. she saw him every single night after, weeping on the edge of her bed, asking her to bring him back. to this day, she doesn’t know whether he was a ghost that haunts her childhood home, or whether he was an image of her grief that she’d conjured in order to punish herself. she hasn’t seen him since she left the family home.
chapter three
---
she moved out at 18, living in student accommodation for the duration of her university career, in which she studied anatomy, then several years later in a small apartment alone when she began working towards a phd, also in anatomical sciences.
almost immediately after graduating, she married william myers—an acquaintance of her brother’s, due to familial pressure. both were consistently unfaithful to one another, and it was during this relationship that she began to fantasise about murder. after 18 years of marriage and the passing of her beloved father, theo divorced him and left london for good, vowing to never marry again. the breakdown of this relationship caused her estrangement from her older brother—he branded her shameful to the family.
chapter four
---
now in new york, she works as a professor in a university. a couple years in, frankie came to live with her, but ultimately she valued her own space too much to continue, so she moved nearby, working as a doctor. occasionally, she’d pretend to be frankie in order to gain access to supplies for her experiments. frankie has since moved back to london.
theo continues to work towards her goal of bringing the dead back to life, and she isn’t afraid of getting her hands dirty to do so.
